Adult Treatment Specialties
Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect. Stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, trauma, or feelings of being stuck can leave you overwhelmed and disconnected from the life you want to live. Sometimes the challenges are new; other times they reflect patterns that have been with you for many years.
Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to slow down, gain perspective, and better understand yourself. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to your struggles while building practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
I work with adults from a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach that recognizes your unique strengths, experiences, and goals. Depending on your needs, our work may include conversation, creative expression, and experiential techniques that foster insight, healing, and meaningful change.
My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you strengthen relationships, reconnect with your inner resources, and create a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and authentic.
Adult ADHD
ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and impulse control. While ADHD is often identified in childhood, many adults are not diagnosed until later in life, after years of wondering why everyday tasks seem harder for them than for others.
Adults with ADHD may struggle with organization, time management, concentration, forgetfulness, procrastination, or emotional reactivity. These challenges can affect relationships, parenting, work, and self-esteem. Women, in particular, are often overlooked because their symptoms may present differently than those typically seen in boys.
ADHD also comes with strengths. Many individuals with ADHD are creative, intuitive, energetic, and capable of thinking outside the box. Therapy focuses on understanding how ADHD uniquely affects you while building on those strengths.
Together, we'll develop practical strategies to manage symptoms, improve organization and emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and create systems that support success in everyday life. When appropriate, therapy can also complement medication and other treatments, helping you move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-understanding.
Anxiety
Anxiety can leave you feeling overwhelmed, constantly on edge, or trapped in a cycle of worry that is difficult to escape. In today's fast-paced world, with endless demands on our time and attention, it can sometimes feel as though you're a rock tumbling down a mountainside—gaining speed and unable to slow yourself down.
Anxiety can affect nearly every aspect of your life. You may struggle with sleeplessness, racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating, irritability, relationship challenges, or stress at work. Sometimes these symptoms are fueled by current life pressures; other times they are rooted in earlier experiences, unresolved trauma, or long-standing patterns that are no longer serving you.
In therapy, we'll work together to understand the underlying causes of your anxiety, develop practical tools to manage it, and help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. My goal is not only to reduce your symptoms, but to help you create a calmer, more fulfilling life.
Adult Depression
I've seen depression portrayed as someone standing alone beneath a dark raincloud while rain pours down on them, even as everyone else seems to carry on under a bright, sunny sky. If that image feels familiar, you're not alone—and help is available.
Depression doesn't always look the same. Sometimes it arrives gradually, almost unnoticed. Other times it feels like a heavy weight that makes even the simplest tasks seem overwhelming. You may feel persistently sad, irritable, angry, exhausted, hopeless, or disconnected from the people and activities you once enjoyed. It can feel as though your life is no longer your own, and you don't know how to find your way back.
In therapy, we'll work together to better understand the thoughts, emotions, and life experiences contributing to your depression. As you gain insight and develop healthier ways of coping, you'll begin to reconnect with your strengths, rediscover hope, and move toward the meaningful, fulfilling life you want to live.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Adults
For many autistic adults, life has often felt like trying to navigate a world that wasn't designed with them in mind. You may have spent years feeling "different" without understanding why. Social situations can be confusing or exhausting, sensory experiences may feel overwhelming, and maintaining the expectations of work, relationships, and everyday life can require tremendous effort.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in communication, social interaction, sensory processing, and the way individuals experience the world. Being autistic is not a flaw or something to be "fixed." Every autistic person has unique strengths, perspectives, and ways of thinking, along with challenges that deserve understanding and support.
For many adults, receiving an autism diagnosis later in life can be both validating and transformative. It often provides a new framework for understanding lifelong experiences while replacing self-criticism with greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.
In therapy, we'll work together to better understand your individual strengths and challenges, develop strategies that honor your needs, reduce unnecessary stress, strengthen relationships, and help you build a life that feels authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.
